My family is in dire need of assistance. We live in a small home that is rented to us from an organization that wants to help lower income families. However, the rent doesn't adjust to our income and I recently was laid off work after 6 years of employment.

I will start my new job in 2 weeks, but the "in-between" period of employment has left us 1 and a half months without income. Our rent is due June 1, 2008. We owe $1,695 ASAP to avoid eviction. The eviction notice states that we must vacate the premises by June 1 if rent is not paid.

 It is quite embarrassing to ask for assistance, but we've swallowed our pride and attempted numerous churches, Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc. All of these organizations have denied us because their "funds are exhausted". If anybody could please help out in any way, we will promise to repay you. We can provide copies of the eviction notice to anybody who wants to help in order to prove that our situation is real. If you want assurance that you will be repaid, we will sign a contract or promisary note.
